The wines
of Château Valcombe

Grande Serène

La Grande Serène Rouge from Château Valcombe comes from vines over 60 years old.
This cuvée is made from Serine, a grape variety renowned in Côte Rôtie, here nourished by the Valcombe terroir.
The union of grape and terroir produces a wine of remarkable power, elegance and aromatic complexity.

Ageing in demi-muids brings gentle oaky notes that gradually reveal themselves as the wine breathes, remaining beautifully integrated.
While already interesting to drink today, it undoubtedly has excellent ageing potential.

A wine made for long cellaring.

The estate’s most exclusive production: only 3,000 bottles per year.

Terroir

Located in the commune of Saint-Pierre-de-Vassols, on a northeast-facing hollow at 250 meters of altitude.
This hollow lies directly in line with Mont Ventoux, benefiting from the “Ventouille” wind that descends every morning at 5 a.m. from the cool heights of the mountain.

Clay-sandy topsoil.

The vines are managed with shoot thinning, leaf removal, and manual destemming (green harvest).

Hand-picked harvest with sorting.

Winemaking and ageing

Rack and return. Ageing in demi-muids (minimum 5 wines).
